Friday Night Live - A Social & Life Skills Community by Amazing House of Hope

Friday Night Live exists to support neurodivergent young adults (ages 18+) by providing a structured, engaging virtual community where participants build meaningful connections, strengthen life skills, and grow in confidence. As part of the broader mission of Amazing House of Hope Autism Research & Development Center, this program reflects our commitment to addressing the root causes of social and behavioral challenges while promoting emotional regulation, communication development, and meaningful community integration.

Program Overview

​

Friday Night Live was established by the founder of Amazing House of Hope, an autism mom who recognized firsthand the difficulty many young adults with autism, especially those with severe behavioral challenges, face in forming and maintaining friendships. What began in November 2024 as a weekly small Friday evening gathering designed to help her own son build friendships has grown into a welcoming and supportive community.

Each session includes

• Guided discussions on real-life topics

• Role-based life scenarios to practice problem-solving

• Social communication skill-building

• Opportunities to strengthen self-advocacy

• Safe, facilitated conversations about emotions and everyday experiences

• Interactive games and structured activities that make learning enjoyable

Participants practice navigating social cues, managing real-world situations, projecting their voice with confidence, and engaging respectfully with peers, all within a safe, judgment-free environment.

Why It Matters

​

Young adults with autism and significant behavioral challenges often experience social isolation. Friday Night Live creates intentional space for authentic friendships to form, while also reinforcing the social, emotional, and transitional skills necessary for long-term independence and vocational success. This program serves as a practical extension of the Amazing House of Hope model, building community today while laying the groundwork for future vocational rehabilitation and meaningful inclusion.

Meeting Schedule

Beginning Spring 2025, Friday Night Live will meet on the first Friday of each month unless otherwise specified.
