Bullying in schools and cyberbullying are on the rise. This has always been a major problem globally. With the rise in mental health conditions and suicide associated with the bullying of youth, this issue is now getting more attention than ever.

Negative behaviors rightfully induce ill emotions. It's normal to become emotional in this type of situation, but emotions aren't a bad thing, it's actually a protective measure of the body's natural response system that can prepare the body to take action, especially in danger. Emotions don't cause suicide; it's how people react to their emotions. That's why it is critical that bullying is taken seriously by the parents, the school system, and the student to make sure this issue is addressed appropriately and expeditiously. It’s important that all the aforementioned are proactive because no student should ever consider this horrible behavior as their "norm," it is far from normal.  It’s not realistic to say that bullying will never happen because it will, but when the bullying protocol is followed and ALL bullies are held accountable for their actions by serving the proper consequences, this is the best and most effective form of bullying prevention.
